The Wellness Education Program Coordinator is part of the Wellness Resource Center, within the Division of Student Affairs. This position is responsible for the design and implementation of education initiatives for the first year students and interfacing with all freshman and transfer students entering Temple University. The Wellness Program Education Coordinator, working collaboratively with the Assistant Director and Director, is responsible for setting the prevention agenda for the campus in the areas of freshman and transfer student's orientation, specifically pertaining to alcohol and sexual assault education and safety. Key functions of this position include design and delivery of training programs, project management, program assessment, and instruction of a University Seminar course, co-instruction of peer education public health course, supervision, and general administrative duties. The incumbent is responsible for helping to ensure students view and electronically sign University policies relating to the student code of conduct, and sexual assault via online education programming and first year student orientation for all incoming students. In addition, the Wellness Education Program Coordinator serves as the Administrator of the Healthy Lifestyle Living Learning Community, and is also responsible for organizing and supporting peer education initiatives within the Wellness Resource Center. Supervises two program office assistants, and oversees peer education wellness crews. The Wellness Education Program Coordinator is the primary prevention expert for areas of sexual and reproductive health. Uses evidenced and theory based interventions, procedures and systems to improve the health and academic performance of individual students, campus communities and student groups within the University. Works collaboratively across the University in both programming and committee participation. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least two year's experience in Public Health, Health Education, Higher Education, or related field. Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities:
*Comprehensive knowledge of health education for university students.
*Must understand and be committed to the principles of student learning and development as it is implemented through co-curricular activities.
*Must be able to work evening and occasional weekend hours, and travel to offsite campus location that may not be accessible via public transportation.
*Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
*Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment. Preferred:
*Master's degree. This position requires a background check.
