I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The EMeRG Coordinator will support the EMS and Auxiliary Services Branch within the GWPD. This position is responsible for management and oversight of the GW Emergency Medical Response Group, GW's campus EMS agency. This position will report directly to the Assistant Director, EMeRG & Auxiliary Programs.

The incumbent will be responsible for all facets of management of an emergency response agency, to include: ensuring conformity with applicable laws and regulations; recruitment, retention, and personnel management; protocol and process development; quality assurance and quality improvement; clinical and operational training; and budgetary management (to include revenue seeking ventures).

Additionally, the incumbent is expected to serve as a liaison with University, District, and federal partners in the event of an expanding incident in the National Capital Region. To accomplish this, the incumbent will lead and manage a leadership team comprised of agency members. Incumbent is expected to work well as part of a team and with a wide variety of internal and external partners. This incumbent is expected to succeed in a cross-functional teamwork environment (GW Police Department, Division of Student Affairs, DC Fire and EMS, DC Department of Health); is responsible for attending related trainings, seminars, and events; is responsible for keeping current on changes to relevant law and policy that may impact the functions of this position.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Two years' experience as an Emergency Medical
Technician, to include at least one year of administrative
and/or supervisory experience (includes volunteer service).

Current National Registry of Emergency Medical
Technicians certification; District of Columbia Department
of Health certification (or ability to obtain DC DOH
certification within 30 days of employment).

Current CPR Professional Rescuer / Basic Life Support
certification.

A valid driver's license and be eligible to drive GW
vehicles as per University Policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current certification as an Advanced Life Support provider.

Current certification as American Safety and Health
Institute CPR Instructor.

Instructor certifications in relevant topics, including but not
limited to: Association of Public Communications Officials
(APCO), International Police Mountain Bicycling
Association (IPMBA), American Safety and Health
Institute (ASHI), Incident Command System (ICS) /
National Incident Management System (NIMS),
Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC).

Experience in supervision and/or management of volunteer
and/or student organizations.

Proficiency and demonstrated experience using various
computer programs (patient care reporting software,
Microsoft Office Suite, web-based scheduling software).

Should be able to independently track data, generate reports,
and communicate effectively in oral and written
communications.
