Position Description,

Occupational Summary
Perform a variety of duties involved in the collection, interpretation and documentation of data in support of research and informational gathering activities.

You will maintain a close, collaborative working relationship with the Principal Investigators in Brain Tumor (BTC) to effectively manage research studies, with the BTC Department, with the Duke Cancer Institute (DCI) & OncCRU administrative teams, and the BTC department staff. You will build and maintain effective relationships with key study personnel, clinical resources and regulatory colleagues within the OncCRU.

Work Performed

Study Conduct
Perform a variety of research, data base and clerical duties support of clinical trials to assist investigators in organizing, gathering and compiling clinical research data.
Assist in general administrative activities as requested; discuss unusual requests or indications that a site is not in compliance with established guidelines.

Data
Communicate and coordinate with other study personnel as required to include data entry and randomization personnel, pharmacy, laboratories, study sponsors, external sites and others as needed for study implementation and problem resolution.

Maintain and update site demographics and study participant de-identified information on computer data base; log forms received and file as appropriate; perform data entry.
Provide feedback to leadership on Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) processes.

Log data management documents and correspondence from assigned sites; investigate incomplete, inaccurate or missing documents for accuracy and completeness of data. Forward appropriate documentation to the regulatory coordinators to include in the regulatory binder.

And other work as assigned.

Expectations
Attend required clinical research, Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) and departmental staff meetings.
Participate in and complete designated and/or required training [Clinical Research Unit (CRU), Human Subject Research (HSR), CITI modules, MaestroCare, Beacon, IRB, etc.]
Effectively manage your workload, seeking help whenever it's needed. Communicate frequently with your manager, keeping them up-to-date on your work and issues as they arise. You will work closely with your manager to implement departmental & Duke Policy and initiatives.

Adherence to core work hours; time off requests will be submitted to your manager per departmental & Duke Policy. Patient care is our primary mission. When the unexpected happens you may be called upon to provide coverage outside your core work hours.

Know and comply with the regulations, rules and Standard Operating Procedures for your department, Duke Medical Center, School of Medicine, OncCRU and the Duke Office of Clinical Research.
