Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia Department of Student Health, Student Disabilities Access Center is seeking a D/deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Coordinator. This position provides communication access to Deaf/HH students, employees, and visitors, as well as logistical support for service delivery. The coordinator is responsible for services for D/deaf and HOH students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the University. They are expected to serve as a liaison for faculty, staff, and students; provide training on disability issues; and resolve problems in the department. They are also expected to assign cases to interpreters and/or captioners. These services are to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as Amended, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
