The Department of Public Health Sciences and the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Specialist Intermediate to support the activities of directors and faculty in the new Center for Addiction Prevention and Research (CAPR). The Research Specialist Intermediate will be involved in multiple research projects in tobacco, alcohol, and obesity prevention. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the investigators in all aspects of the projects, providing coordination for the research teams; follows-up on, organizes, and conducts research meetings; designs, monitors, and adjusts research activities as needed; and writes reports.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Public Health Sciences or a related field. A Bachelor's degree in Public Health Sciences or a related field and three years of research experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data may substitute for a Master's. Student experience may be considered. Experience with Microsoft Office (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAS or other comparable analysis software are required.
This position is restricted and is contingent upon the continuation of funding.
