The Office of International Affairs has an opening for a part-time University Staff (unclassified) International Student Health Insurance Coordinator position.

Position Emphasis:

This position oversees and provides administrative leadership for the International Student Health Insurance at the Denver Campus. This position educates international students about mandatory insurance coverage, deadlines for compliance and application forms, the waiver and appeals processes, as well as maintains online information about the student health insurance. The Coordinator makes recommendations on matters of policy and practice related to student health insurance issues and is the key participant in campus decision-making related to the selection of and ongoing interactions with contracted health care vendors. The Coordinator acts as an advocate on behalf of students in need of health insurance services and works with the Health Center at Auraria and International Student and Scholar Services to ensure student compliance with the university's mandate for student health insurance coverage. This position will also handle escalated issues that may arise with vendors or with the Health Center at Auraria or with the International Student and Scholar Services, or any other parties. This position has regular communication between the university administration and students, as well as between the insurer and students; and serves as the primary problem solver as issues arise from the campus community or insurer. Additionally, this position may assist in other activities to support international students or the Office of International Affairs.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $22,500 - $27,625 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in education, communication, social science, business, health sciences, public administration, business administration, higher education, liberal arts, human services, student affairs, Community Health Education or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of professional level experience providing customer service.

Substitution:

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive customer service experience working in higher education student services OR in the health insurance industry.
  • Experience with financial and student information systems at a university or college.
  • Student insurance experience.
  • Experience with web content management.
