Student Academic Affairs (SAA) is the home for direct student services, serving approximately 18,000 undergraduates in the College of Letter and Science (L&S). The Academic Advising Services (AAS) office is the primary source for undergraduate academic advising for students who intend to complete a major in L&S but have not yet declared a major(s).
This position will work under the general supervision of the Director for Academic Advising Services. This position provides support for AAS programs and works closely with staff in other SAA functional areas. This position provides the first point of contact for a variety of constituents, with the primary contacts being with L&S and other University students. Contacts are made via telephone, email and in person, and the focus of the job is to acquire thorough knowledge of SAA, College, and University services as well as provide administrative support for the staff of AAS.
Additional responsibilities handled by this position include master calendar management; meeting space reservations; support for the Director, Transfer Coordinator, and academic advising staff; management of office supplies, equipment purchasing, and contact for physical plant on workspace maintenance or comfort issues. Customer service skills and the willingness to interact with undergraduate students, strong communication skills, the ability to handle multiple demands, and attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
