Community Based Learning Coordinator
Works with community partners for student placement within academic courses; and assisting with the recruitment and training of faculty adapting service learning into their courses. Complete assessment and evaluation of service-learning experiences for student participants, service-learning designated courses and community agencies. Collaborates with academic, and other campus departments and community agencies to support the curricular service learning programs as well as develop/provide co-curricular volunteer service experiences. Assists with on and off campus service events.
Required: Bachelor's degree in education, liberal arts, sciences or related area. Demonstrated experience in an educational or training environment coordinating or developing a program. Demonstrated experience with volunteerism and/or service learning. Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to operate a personal computer and associated software. Knowledge of nonprofit/not-for-profit agencies. Ability to drive an 11-passenger van and have a valid driver's license. A basic level of learned physical skill is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials
Preferred: Master's degree in education, liberal arts, sciences or related area. Teaching experience in higher education.
