Assistant Professor of Community and Leadership Development

The College of Agriculture, Food & Environment seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education with an emphasis in technology systems management. This is a 12-month, tenure-eligible joint position between two departments: Community and Leadership Development (CLD); and Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering (BAE). The effort allocated between the two departments will be 80% CLD and 20% BAE. The Distribution of Effort for this position will be 60% instruction (20% BAE, 40% CLD) 35% research and 5% service.

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in agricultural education and technology systems management; student teacher supervision; graduate courses in Community and Leadership Development; and graduate advising of agricultural education students. The successful applicant will teach courses associated with advanced teaching methodologies; and fabrication, construction and manufacturing processes, quality management, and facilities planning. Research activities in the area of scholarship of teaching and learning will be valuable to the incumbent.

The Assistant Professor will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research program that connects Agricultural Education and Technology Systems Management, as well as establish a prosperous publication record in teaching and/or research scholarship, secure competitive grants, recruit and advise graduate students (in either department), fulfill committee assignments supporting the mission of the department, college, and university, and provide leadership to professional societies.

Minimum of 3 years of secondary classroom teaching experience; and knowledge in technology systems management, more specifically Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field, are essential.
