Position Summary

Provides high level clerical support for Drs. Johnson-Lawrence and Johnson and their research teams; interacts with stakeholders through phone, email, and in person, including university faculty, staff, members of the news media, and the public; schedules and coordinates logistics for meetings and special events; prepares travel arrangements for conferences and meetings; maintains calendars and monitors day-to-day email and written correspondence; gathers data and information from a variety of sources and complies, analyzes, and prepares data for generating reports; maintains office files; composes correspondence, reports, agreements, and other documents; other duties as assigned. This position is located at the College of Human Medicine's Flint Campus in Flint, MI.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical school or a related field; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in customer service or in performing tasks related to the area of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration; three to five years of clerical experience in an academic setting; experience in establishing and maintaining operational clerical actions of an academic unit; ability to: work independently; organize and multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy; work with interruptions; experience in coordinating meetings and small conferences and other general office procedures; working knowledge of Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software; excellent written and verbal communications skills; excellent collaborative skills.
