Cognos Planning Analytics (TM1) Dev

Position Summary

The successful candidate will independently meet with customers to determine requirements, desires, needs and cross-system issues on Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos Analytics projects; develops complex technical specifications for both Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos Analytics; performs functional design of Planning Analytics (TM1) applications as well as Cognos Analytics objects, such as frameworks, reports, cubes, etc.; develops, tests and implements complex Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos Analytics solutions; acts as a resource, on a consistent basis, to other team/section professional staff in the resolution of issues related to Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos Analytics; provides independent support (Tier 2) to customers regarding Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos Analytics; independently work with customers to analyze problems or needs, with little supervision/oversight and few questions, to develop solutions requiring noveluses of existing technology, integration of multiple areas of technical expertise, or investigation and application of new technologies.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in design, development, deployment and maintenance of Cognos BI and Planning Analytics (TM1) objects, including frameworks, reports, cubes, applications, building budgeting, planning and reporting applications in Planning Analytics (TM1) Architect and Performance Modeler; experience using Planning Analytics (TM1) Architect to build multiple complex rules, feeders and Turbo Integrator processes and optimizing Planning Analytics (TM1) models for best practices, performance and user experience; experience transforming Planning Analytics (TM1) models into consumable objects such as visualizations and reports; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Desired Qualifications

Self-starter with the ability to successfully execute deliverables with high level guidance; strong technical and problem solving skills including the ability to troubleshoot from application to source; strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel; strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service; planning Analytics(TM1) application administration experience; higher education experience desired; Experience and proven ability to gather business requirements and rapidly prototype Planning Analytics (TM1) solutions based on business requirements; understanding of and experience with data warehousing design and OLAP data models; understanding of data structures and the ability to write SQL against a variety of data sources including, but not limited to, Oracle and SQL Server; working knowledge and good understanding of accounting, financial analysis and budget planning; understanding of Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos BI integration; at least 6 years of Cognos development experience with at least 3 years of uninterrupted experience developing in Planning Analytics (TM1).
