Programming & Operations Assistant

Position Summary

This position works very closely and supports the activities of the Executive Director with the engagement and contracting of artist and productions performing at Wharton Center for Performing Arts and its satellite programming organizations. This position also works very closely and supports the Director of Operations & Administration with the implementation of all artist contracts and the contractual obligations of each engagement.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate's degree in a business-related field or in a field which corresponds to the particular department of employment; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software and/or desktop publishing, web page software; office procedures, or in performing responsibilities related to the operational activities of the employing unit; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; work hours may involve occasional evening and weekend hours. . 

Desired Qualifications

In depth knowledge of performing arts disciplines, software to include Excel, Access, Word and Adobe; ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment; detail oriented individual with high accuracy in job performance, dependability and highly motivated; knowledge of University policies and procedures.
