University of North Texas - Visiting Assistant Professor
The areas of specialization are open, but particular consideration will be given to candidates with a strong scholarly expertise in one or more of the following areas: 20th-century music, current theoretical approaches, cognitive theory, popular music and/or jazz analysis, theory and new media/technology.Duties: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory. This may include: core theory courses, counterpoint, form, theory pedagogy, as well as open-topic seminars on music theory and its related (sub-) disciplines; additional instructional assignments are possible, based on the candidate's background and experience. Ph.D. in Music Theory, or equivalent degree at time of appointment, demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching, and an active research profile.
