Research Analyst


The Institutional Effectiveness Office at Buffalo State, State University of New York, seeks candidates for the position of Research Analyst.


Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in statistics, education, higher education, psychology, sociology, or related field;

Demonstrated experience with data extraction, processing, visualization, and analysis;

Experience conducting quantitative, mixed methods, or evaluation studies in a related field, including demonstrated expertise in research design and descriptive and inferential data analysis techniques;

Demonstrated experience with software tools for data management and analysis and Microsoft Office products;

Experience with relational databases, large dataset or data warehouses, particularly within a higher education environment;

Strong analytic ability, creative skills, written and verbal communication skills;

Familiarity with Taskstream or other cloud-based AMS;

Familiarity with Banner or other SIS;

Demonstrated experience in analyzing data to measure outcomes-based assessment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in statistics, education, higher education, psychology, sociology, or related field;

Familiarity with Argos;

Working knowledge of Qualtrics, SPSS, and data warehousing;

Knowledge of CAEP accreditation procedures, Federally required EPP reporting, and Middle States Standards;

Demonstrated experience with institutional research methods for continuous improvement.
