Job Summary:
The Office of Student Recruitment t seeks to recruit undergraduate domestic students from local and regional high schools and junior colleges by promoting Lamar University's 200 academic programs and campus life. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Student Recruitment, the Ad missions Assistant Sr. supports the Lamar University Office of Student Recruitment by assisting prospective students and their families with the various processes and procedures required to enroll at Lamar University.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist students and visitors, both in person and on the telephone
  • Schedule or refer them to services across campus
  • Retrieve and evaluate information presented such as grades, transcripts and related admissions files
  • Schedule and post information, entering data, maintaining calendars, answering general questions
  • Provide email responses to admission inquiries
  • Responsible for CRM data management
  • Inform student of missing documents and incomplete file information
  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Required knowledge Skills/Abilities:
    • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing
    • Provide effective and responsive service to prospective students
    • Perform all assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
    • Identify and resolve problems or issues with prospective and admitted students
    • Maintain confidentiality of records and information; possess strong organizational and conceptual skills, with an eye to detail
    • Typically includes work that requires the direction of occasional, non-regular employees, including student assistants, work student students, seasonal employees, interns and part-time hourly employees

    • Working knowledge of, and the ability to apply business terminology, spelling, grammar and punctuation
    • Ability to compose effective correspondence
    • 1-3 years of work experience
