Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation is currently seeking a non-tenured track Adjunct faculty position in Bilingual Education for Spring 2017 or Fall 2017. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Bilingual Education. Candidates must have a strong background in bilingual education, as well as experience with curriculum and teaching in elementary (EC-6 Bilingual Teacher) public schools. Candidates must have a strong mentoring experience with bilingual education pre-service teachers. A preference will be given to candidates who have a background in bilingual education with regard to cultural and linguistic groups in the U.S., particularly Spanish speaking populations in the South San Antonio. Knowledge of the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test and test preparation for bilingual education pre-service teachers. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate bilingual education classes focused on differentiating instruction for a variety of learner profiles, as well as teaching graduate classes in bilingual education. Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in spoken and written Spanish.
Work Hours: Depends on course schedule. Teaching assignments may include day, night, weekend classes and /or supervising bilingual education pre-service teachers during the day in the Field Residency Classes.
