Assistant Director for EOP/AIM-1700763

Required Qualifications: (Evidenced by an attached resume) Masters Degree in Counseling, Education, Social Work or another related discipline. Four years of progressively responsible experience providing counseling to diverse student populations, preferably in an academic setting. Experience supervising professional staff. Experience providing training and supervision of tutors and/or instructional support staff. Understanding of best practices and theories underlying post-secondary tutoring. Understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethic backgrounds of opportunity program students.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in program planning and assessment. Experience writing and implementing grants. Enrollment management experience. Primary Purpose: Manage academic support and assessment; assist the director in providing oversight for the program. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the academic, cultural and socioeconomic needs of economically disadvantaged and academically under-prepared students.
  • Under the supervision of the Director, provide administrative and programmatic support to the program in the areas of academic support and program assessment.
  • Assist the Director in providing guidance and direct supervision to the program's professional staff.
  • Work with the Director to develop and implement academic success initiatives for program students.
  • Responsible for assessing the tutorial and learning needs of EOP/AIM students and planning, organizing, coordinating and supervising the tutorial component of the program, including individual, group and walk-in tutoring and supplemental instruction.
  • Assist with preparing grant applications and reports.
  • Provide Academic advising, personal counseling, career counseling and financial aid advising to opportunity program students.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.

Special Notes: This is a full time appointment FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. Evenings and weekend work is required.
