The Resident Director (RD) position at Stevens Institute is a dynamic addition to the Office of Residence Life. The RD assists in the areas of staff supervision, staff training, evaluation, and office administration. The RD provides educational opportunities and academic support for students and is the primary programming coordinator for student staff.
In addition, the RD will assist the Area Director and/or professional staff with departmental initiatives such as committee management, meeting facilitation, conducting research, supporting summer conferences, and technology management including administrative applications and housing software. Additional responsibilities relevant to the Office of Residence Life may be assigned as needed.
Areas of Responsibility Include:
Assisting with staff supervision of RAs, training, and staff development Committee management with Residence Life, the division, and/or the university Creating educational opportunities for student learning and development Community development within your area Conduct minor judicial meetings Serve as an on-call campus duty officer Administrative responsibilities with the area office and main office Assist in development and growth of select departmental initiatives Work in collaboration with various campus, and academic offices Additional duties as assigned by supervisor and/or the Office of Residence Life
