RESEARCH ASSISTANT, School of Public Health, Environmental Health (8851/F1317)
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant position is to function as a key staff and member of a large research team studying occupational and environmental contributors to an epidemic of chronic kidney disease in Mesoamerica.
The RA will work most closely with Professors in the Department of Environmental Health, and in the Epidemiology Department, as well as meet regularly with members of the research team located at other collaborating institutions.
This position encompasses a range of research support activities including research administration (writing progress reports and institutional review board protocol), data collection in the field, basic statistical analysis, and reviews of scientific literature and public health policies.
The position is ideally suited to candidates building a career in environmental health. An interest in science communication is helpful.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. The RA will coordinate regular team meetings and travel to Central America. Written and oral Spanish language proficiency is required.
Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience required. Written and oral Spanish language proficiency is required.
