Under the new leadership of Dean Elizabeth Loboa, the College of Engineering (CoE) at the University of Missouri (MU) is hiring multiple tenure/tenure-track faculty in the area of Big Data analytics. A significant number of these could be joint positions between the CoE and other divisions/units on the MU campus such as the Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S). The successful candidate will be expected to participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching that supports both divisions/departments.
Geospatial Big Data (GBD) science / analytics and spatio-temporal statistics are an integral part of many important research areas such as environmental analysis and modeling, population / health dynamics and modeling, defense and security, and advanced spatial and spatio-temporal data exploitation and visualization. We invite applications for this possible joint-hire faculty position with demonstrated experience in GBD science and/or spatio-temporal statistics. Applications for tenure-track/tenured positions are solicited. The successful candidate will join well-established research groups.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in statistics, engineering (electrical, computer, civil, etc.) or related fields such as computer science, data science, etc. Candidates must have significant experience in the development and/or application of spatial and/or spatio-temporal big data science, and must have a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and teaching.
