Office of University Communications' Digital Content Unit
Florida State University is looking for a new team member! We want an experienced, motivated, and energetic person to join our team as a Multimedia Journalist.
This position is responsible for multi-platform video and audio programming including radio, statewide television, and visual content for the web. Our new team member must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills (including on-camera presentation) and a mastery of technology. Must love people, telling stories with video, and having fun! You can work with an outstanding team of content creators unlike any other in higher education. Daily responsibilities include script writing, operating digital audio and video recording/editing equipment, and enterprising stories.
Also, Serves as one of the department's secondary emergency coordination officer (ECO) for the University's FSU ALERT emergency notification system. Recommends new and improved programs or technologies to effectively manage content production and dissemination.
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience related to the responsibilities of the job, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
Experience producing digital content for multi-platform programming.
Experience operating audio and video recording and editing equipment.
Knowledge of journalism, communications, and public relations.
Knowledge of media and public relations protocol in order to maintain effective working relationships with media, the university, and the community.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills to include on-air broadcast presentation.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Anticipated Salary Range
Low to Mid 30's
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
