This position provides executive level support for the Northeastern University Executive who is both Vice President for the Innovation Campus in Burlington, MA (ICBM) and Vice Provost for Research Innovation and Development (VP)., as well as, to the ICBM administrative office. The role reports to the Director of Administration of the ICBM.

This individual will be responsible for managing the VP's administrative needs to ensure that his/her time is effectively allocated and that he/she has the information/materials needed to advance the priorities of the university programs and assets for which he/she is responsible. The Executive Assistant provides a comprehensive range of support services to insure the overall efficiency of the VP. Additionally, he/she will provide support in the ICBM administrative office for meetings, events, and other duties as assigned.

This position will be primarily at the Burlington ICBM Campus and with time spent at Northeastern's Boston Campus located in Boston, MA. In addition to these locations, some travel may be required for events/meetings where the VP has a major role and admin support is needed.


Bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience in higher education supporting a Dean, Vice Provost or Vice President level executive, or in business supporting a Vice President or higher-level executive. Experience interacting with a wide variety of stakeholders internal and external to the university or firm. Applicant must be a self-motivated worker who can anticipate problems and demonstrate significant independent judgement - must be able to take initiative and follow through on tasks independently. Demonstrated record of dependability and a strong work ethic required.

Ability to travel as needed.
Must have high standards of ethical and professional conduct: Experience and comfort handling confidential and/or proprietary information relating to employer and other organizations interacting with the employer. Ability to project and maintain a high standard of professional appearance and demeanor.

Must be Detail-oriented: high level of attention to accuracy and completeness with superior office management capabilities required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed. Must have excellent computer skills including: Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
