Instructor-ESL non-credit (Part time - variable hours)

Position Category: Faculty - Adjunct (Variable Hour)

Teaches a variety of ESL courses which may include listening and speaking, reading, writing, and grammar; prepares instructional materials including syllabus; evaluates instruction and learning by means of oral, written, practical and performance tests; establishes and maintains positive classroom environments and rapport with students; maintains accurate records involving student accountability, attendance, and performance; is available for student consultation; attends instructor meetings; and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with an bachelor’s degree with a TESL Certificate; or a combination of education and experience related to the summary of duties totaling six years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1- Knowledge of subject matter and content of English as a Second Language
2- Knowledge of current trends in education, second-language acquisition theory, technology.
1- Skill in instructional strategies and techniques of student management, and motivation.
2- Skill in curriculum and course development and evaluation.
3- Interpersonal problem solving, decision-making.
1- Engage in innovative, learning-centered pedagogy.
2- Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in TESL, applied linguistics, or other closely related degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Standing, sitting, and bending as needed
