Summary of the Position

The Men's Volleyball Coach is responsible for the recruitment, selection and managing all aspects of the team in conjunction with the team captains and organization's executive board. The coach is required to schedule and be present during all practices and matches, ensuring all safety standards and guidelines as defined by the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Governance Rules.

Essential Functions

Make appropriate decisions regarding the safety and playing ability of team members. Schedule all practices and matches in accordance with the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Governance Rules.

Attend all practices and matches.

Represent Bentley University in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the University. Ensure all team members are in good academic standing, have completed and filed the appropriate paperwork with Student Programs & Engagement (Anti-hazing forms, travel forms, Liability and Indemnity waivers).

Be available to team members to counsel on matters relating to Men's Volleyball and team morale. Meet as needed with Student Programs and Engagement and Athletic Department Staff.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience Requirements)

Bachelor's Degree.

Previous experience in coaching men's volleyball, preferably for a University club sport program.

Experience working with an undergraduate population or traditional university aged students.

First Aid and CPR training is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and familiarity with the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Governance Rules.
Experience with club sport team building.

Physical Demands

Coach is present at all practices and matches and must effectively demonstrate and instruct technique and skill to team members.

This position is non-benefit eligible. This position is from August through May, working 5-10 hours per week. The rate is $19.00 per hour.
