The School of Architecture in the College of Arts, Media and Design invites applications and nominations for an Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor position to expand our vibrant teaching and research initiatives for our graduate level Sustainable Urban Environments program and our undergraduate Landscape Architecture program. We seek candidates who will work in the area of design approaches to changing cities, coastal adaptation and urban resiliency. This position will entail teaching both design studios and seminars as well as administrative roles including academic advising of students as well as program management and development. This position offers the opportunity to not only participate within these areas but also have a significant voice in developing the future and vision of these programs.

The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree in urban landscape ecology, landscape architecture, landscape planning, regional planning or a closely related field, with experience or clear potential to build teaching and research collaborations with urban design and urban planning.

In addition to teaching, the role includes supporting the academic advising team, mentoring students in the program, recruitment and outreach (both within the Northeastern community and to prospective students), course scheduling and hiring, and program development.

Candidates must have an MLA, M.Arch, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in landscape architecture or architecture. Candidates are expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, and must have a well-developed research agenda that will inform and advance current trends in the field through creative production, experimentation, collaboration, exhibiting and publication.
