Essential functions of this position:
The Administrative Associate supports the Office of the Dean in the Watson College of Education. The position communicates with the faculty, staff, students and the general public and be able to work independently. The range of duties include, but is not limited to: office manager for the Dean’s Office, perform office reception duties, maintain office supplies, process travel, enter and monitor building maintenance work orders, maintain equipment inventory, process surplus, cash receipting, supervise work of graduate assistants and undergraduate work assistant students. In addition, the position creates room reservations in the Education Building and coordinates logistics for Watson College of Education events. Logistics include, but are not limited to assisting with event planning, scheduling rooms, catering requests, technology support, parking, room arrangements and event set-up.

This position researches and interprets a variety of policies, procedures, and regulations in order to select the most appropriate course of action within specific procedural and operational guidelines.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Uses multiple software programs, information systems, and office equipment to access, input, and verify program information
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management strategies, and ability to work with a variety of individuals in a professional manner
Proficiency in the use of personal computer with multiple types of software programs, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and database system
Must be highly organized and able to perform in an environment often filled with frequent interruptions
Must be detailed oriented
Ability to problem solve space issues for events
Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Experience with Banner Finance and Banner Student desired but not required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred

Recruitment Range: $29,433 - $31,564
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 59
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)

Work Days: Monday - Friday
