I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

At the Office of Practice within George Washington University's Milken Institute of Public Health, the mantra we appreciate and what best reflects the work we do is "proper preparation prevents poor performance". Practice is where what we learn in the classroom comes to life.
The Office of Practice is currently seeking a Practicum Coordinator. The role requires a blend of technical proficiency, human- service sector experience, flexibility, creativity, patience, a collaborative nature, and a professional demeanor. The Practicum Coordinator position reports to the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice (ADP) at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University to create outstanding practice experiences for our students and partners. Among other things this means maintaining partnerships, defining and communicating workflow improvement opportunities, and creating career development and networking events in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities include:
• Serve as a central point of contact for practicum staff in academic departments.
• Coordinate events related to practicums
• Disseminate information to departments related to practicum and coordinate practicum related activities
• Assists ADP with calendar logistics, academic course management, and preparation for external- engagements.
• Assists ADP in creation of strategic outreach, engagement, and training events for preceptors and students.
• Creates reports showing scope and scale of GWSPH practice offerings.
• Approves project proposals (jobs) submitted to the Practicum system
• Provides technical support to practicum staff in academic departments
• Creates practicum reports to assist with system maintenance and program goals
• Supports students and organizations with use of the online Practicum system.
• Sends weekly notifications to preceptors/students
• Maintains up-to-date online Practicum personnel rosters, policies, procedures, etc.in accordance with CEPH requirements.
• Assists Practicum Advisors and the Associate Dean for Practice (ADP) in oversight of Practicum- system users (students, practice partners, and advisers) and web -team.
• Assists in the design of surveys for practicum system users to assess their experiences and the system's capabilities.
• Interfaces with system vendor to enhance system features
• Works with IT to ensure system data integrity
• Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of training and experience, is necessary plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous work with Symplicity system preferred.
• Preferred candidates will have experience with a CRM system.
• Knowledge of relational databases a plus (this isn't required but having at least a basic understanding of how a relational database organizes and "connects" data makes it much easier to create more complex reports.)
• Excellent communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong data-systems and time management skills and ability to prioritize.
• Knowledge of experiential-learning processes preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Drive and other software applications.
