The Office of Sustainability at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a part-time (20-25%) position in the Specialist series to join the Global Student Resource Center (GSRC). The GSRC mission is to serve as a hub for students, providing resources, education, and programming to forward environmental balance, economic vitality, and social equity. Students, as well as campus and community partners, are invited to share a platform from which to address the root causes of ecological disruption, deepen understandings of the interdependence of all life, and engage the challenges and solutions of sustainability in a campus, community, and global context.
The GSRC seeks an individual with the training and skill set required to effectively support GSRC Communications, Advancement, Linkage Building and Institutional Development primarily through the creation and implementation of evaluation systems and processes. Under the direction of the Sustainability Initiative Director, the incumbent will: 1) Conduct evaluation and needs assessment of GSRC branding, stakeholder engagement, communications and subscriber management platforms, and strategies; develop recommendations and proposals for improvement; implement chosen strategies; 2) Develop and implement GSRC advancement strategy; deepen GSRC engagement with campus advancement officers and other advancement resources; and research and write funding proposals in response to calls from internal and external entities such as foundations, individual donors, national associations, federal and state agencies, and campus units. 3) Conduct evaluation and needs assessment of GSRC linkage building strategies; develop recommendations and proposals for improvement; implement chosen strategies; 4) Develop and implement GSRC program monitoring and evaluation systems; manage annual reporting on sustainability-related co-curricular education and engagement for internal campus and national sustainability ranking and rating competitions.
Requirements include: Advanced degree and or substantial experience in program evaluation and monitoring, while additional training or experience in relevant academic field of social science, arts or education is desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and demonstrated facilitation and/or management skills are most desirable. The ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and to communicate and work with both faculty and students in an academic environment is essential. Bilingual Spanish ability required.
Duration of position is 6 months. Appointment may be extended depending upon funding and performance. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Applications submitted by June 23, 2017 will be given full consideration, although applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
