Posting Summary:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Virginia, seeks applicants for a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor. The successful applicants will join an academic division of three, which has a strong commitment to clinical care, education and research.

Candidates must have a MD and have successfully completed a postgraduate training program and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) fellowship, or have successfully completed an FPMRS Fellowship at date of hire. Candidates must also have an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board certification (or be an active candidate) or equivalent (e.g. Royal College). A major commitment to teaching, clinical service and scholarship is essential.

The University of Virginia is the sole tertiary-care referral center for Central Virginia and the continued growth in clinical volume allows the opportunity for faculty expansion. The department has a large referral base , collaborative relationships with Urology and Colorectal Surgery, as well as a robotics surgical platform. In the fall of 2017, the FPMRS division ambulatory operations will be housed in a new, state of the art outpatient clinic, co-located with colleagues in the Urology Department. The Department has an excellent faculty and resident staff, which is given appropriate resources for research, including basic science laboratories, both supported by the Department and the University.
