Minimum $80,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and Area of Specialization:

A minimum of a baccalaureate degree with SCT(ASCP) certification required.
A Master's degree or PhD in Biologic Sciences is preferred with CT(ASCP) certification.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

A minimum of 5 years experience in cytotechnology and one year experience in cytology education required.

License or certificate:

CT(ASCP) or SCT (ASCP) certification and number.

Position Summary:

The position serves to provide administrative and educational leadership for the Cytotechnology Program. The Program Director assures that the Program meets all standards set forth by CAAHEP and the University; maintains effective communications with the program's academic home; directs the curriculum; develops additional curriculum; and fosters relationships and contacts with clinical and university affiliates.
This position ensures that the Cytotechnology program meets all accreditation standards as defined by accrediting organizations and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This position develops new curriculum to meet competency standards for Cytotechnologists and directs staff in implementing standards. This position develops, maintains, and fosters key partnerships within UW-Madison. This position prepares and presents lectures for the Cytotechnology program and assures accurate and complete records are maintained. This position develops training materials and programs to meet the expanding role of professional cytotechnologists in the areas of molecular testing, anatomic pathology, cytogenetics and industry. This position creates educational and academic materials for scientific presentations at state, regional, and national meetings. This position participates in committee work at the state, regional, and national level.
