Degree and Area of Specialization:

B.S./B.A. degree required. M.S. degree preferred. Degree specialization in a discipline related to plant breeding, quantitative genetics, agronomy, or genetics is preferred.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

4-5 years of experience working in a plant breeding program preferred. Experience with data analysis is required. Experience with plant breeding related data analysis is preferred. Knowledge of seed handling logistics and plant production practices in the field is desirable.



Position Summary:

Research Specialist position within the field corn breeding and genetics program at UW Madison. This position will carry major responsibility related to the coordination and data analysis activities for the collaborative Maize GXE project, which is part of the Genomes to Fields (www.genomes2fields.org) Initiative. This project combines genomics and phenomics data to enhance our understanding of the response of plants to environmental influences.
