Position Summary

The Office of Campus Activities and Programs is a department within the Division of Student Affairs. The mission of the UNCG Office of Campus Activities and Programs is to promote involvement and engagement by educating students to create a vibrant campus life at UNCG. Participation and engagement in student organizations; planning, executing, and experiencing campus events and programs; and fostering leadership in the student community are cornerstones of involvement. Specific departmental responsibilities include the coordination of student organization affiliation and administrative advising of select student organizations including Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) chapters, Activities and Campus Events (ACE) Student Government Association Finance Committee, and student media, Additional responsibilities include event management for major campus events and program advisement for student organization events.

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Campus Activities and Programs, the Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life is responsible for assisting in the administration of the Fraternity/Sorority life program and advising the four national councils. The Assistant Director will work with the Associate Director to provide strategic leadership and direction for Fraternity and Sorority Life including the development, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive program focusing on scholarship, leadership, philanthropy and service. Fraternity & Sorority Life at UNCG currently serves around 700 students who participate in 21 fraternities and sororities across four councils. In addition to the Assistant Director, the area is directly supported by the Associate Director and a Graduate Assistant, with indirect support from the rest of the Office of Campus Activities & Programs.



Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in Student Personnel, Student Development, Educational Administration, or a closely related field from a regionally-accredited institution is required. Three to five years of successful experience and demonstrated capability working with Fraternity and Sorority Life is required. Three years of full time direct work with IFC, CPC, NPHC is required. Three years of full time experience with student programming which includes event management and budgeting is preferred along with being a member of a national fraternity or sorority. We provide compensation for conference travel and other professional development opportunities in order to support and develop employees. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience and comfort in working in a multicultural environment, skills in working with national chapters, and leadership training. Candidates must demonstrate: commitment to the value of student activities as an experiential learning process. The position requires an individual with initiative and an energy level that will enable the individual to work evening and weekend hours in addition to regular University hours.
