Field InstructorPosition Summary
The Teacher Preparation program at Michigan State University is recruiting a Field Instructor to engage in off-campus supervision that supports the teaching of fifth-year interns in their field placements at schools in the region. Specific duties include:
Conducting initial conference and assessment conferences with the intern and mentor teacher
Visiting, observing and communicating with interns and mentor teachers throughout the Academic Year
Providing information fordevelopingProfessionalDevelopmentPlans(PDPs) for interns
Supporting the intern and mentor teacher in developing a system for submitting plans, providing feedback, and revising plans prior to any lesson the intern will teach.
Keeping records of all observations and assessments using on-line program forms
Attending monthly on-campus professional development meetings
Master’s degree in teaching or teacher education and experience as a K-12 teacher.Desired Qualifications
An earned doctoral degree in teacher education, mathematics assessment experience, experience with teacher licensure exams, participation and presentation in national conferences.Required Application Materials
