This position compiles, coordinates, and reports official institutional data to federal and state agencies as well as other internal and external constituencies.

Qualifications: Master’s degree required. A minimum of two years’ experience with databases, statistical software, and other high level computer skills. Proficiency in the use of a range of information technology software such as Oracle, Banner, Cognos, and Microsoft Office products. Demonstrable experience and skills in Excel, and Access. Experience in designing, organizing, and managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and with meeting deadlines. A strong statistical and analytical skill set and experience with creating, cleaning, and analyzing large data sets. Ability to work independently, problem solve, and coordinate projects; ability to work with changing and multiple priorities and to work under pressure. Strong written communication skills, including reporting writing for a variety of audiences. Ability to work collaboratively and to build collaborative relationships.

Preferred: Experience programming with SQL. Knowledge and understanding of federal and state reporting requirements for institutions of higher education. Demonstrated experience in social science quantitative research techniques as well as fluency in SAS or SPSS. Demonstrated experienced in a research-related field. Experience in higher education.

Responsibilities: Compile, coordinate, and report official institutional data to federal and state agencies as well as other internal and external constituencies. Serve as institutional data liaison and KPEDS Administrative Tracking System administrator for the Council on Postsecondary Education. Serve as IPEDS Keyholder. Prepare the MSU Fact Book. Prepare the Common Data Set. Prepare the AAUP and CUPA annual surveys. Serve as an Argos data block designer and report writer. Extract, combine, and/or compare data as needed to produce ad hoc or scheduled reports for decision support purposes when requested. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
