Director of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Office of Multicultural Engagement (OME) Mentor
Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced professional for a full-time position as Director of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Office of Multicultural Engagement (OME) Mentoring. Gettysburg College is a highly selective, residential undergraduate liberal arts college, which enrolls approximately 2,600 students. The College is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to provide support for this newly reorganized office focusing on traditionally underrepresented populations and first-generation students. The Director joins the College at a particularly exciting time, as the office is expanding in size and mission and the College is engaged in a campus climate study and inclusion action planning process to advance community action and understanding around diversity, equity and inclusion.
Gettysburg College enrolls over 350 traditionally underrepresented students with high rates of retention and graduation. The Director of CBOs and OME Mentoring is responsible for mentoring and building relationships with leaders of the various charter schools and CBOs affiliated with Gettysburg College to further the recruitment and retention of historically underrepresented populations and first-generation students. The individual acts as the key resource for first-year students in transitioning to college and offers first-year mentoring and support. Specifically, this person will develop and oversee a peer mentoring system, and recruit and oversee faculty and staff mentors for this student population. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Multicultural Engagement.
A Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Student Development, Student Affairs or College Counseling is required along with a minimum of three to five years of experience in Student Affairs/College Life. Experience working with Admissions/Enrollment Management is highly desired. Competitive candidates will also have demonstrated skill in working within cross-cultural contexts; strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills and demonstrable organizational and management skills. Previous experience in working in a liberal arts context is preferred or ability to translate past work to a liberal arts context is required. Candidates are also expected to have demonstrable experience with data utilization and learning assessment as a tool to measure the effectiveness of the department’s program.
This is a 12-month, full-time administrative appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience and complemented by an excellent benefits package.
