Division Chief, Pediatric Rehabilitation (Tenure or CE track)
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator track or the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. Candidates must be Board Certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation.
The Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a nationally recognized leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation to lead a growing Division of Rehabilitation Medicine. The Division was created in 2011 to meet increasing patient demand for comprehensive rehabilitation services for children with a broad spectrum of acquired and congenital disorders, including regional, national and international patient referrals. The Division has grown from one to five pediatric physiatrists since that time. Clinical responsibilities include management of an 18-bed, recently renovated inpatient rehabilitation unit integrated within an acute care hospital with over 500 beds, an acute inpatient consultative service, a Day Rehabilitation Hospital, and a progressively expanding outpatient clinic service at the main hospital, in one of the largest and most sophisticated ambulatory centers in the world, and at several of the surrounding satellite specialty centers within the region. The applicant will also be responsible for fostering and supporting a growing research portfolio with the recent recruitment of a Research Director and the development of the Neuromotor Performance Center. The Division also serves as the training site for physical medicine and rehabilitation residents from two major Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Departments within the region. The Division is now poised to expand its clinical services and its research mission and seeks a dynamic, visionary leader with strategic, operational, clinical, research, and academic experience to direct this expansion.
We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.
