Job Description

CNC/Programmer/Engineer

Small and growing metal fabrication shop is looking to add an experienced CNC Programmer/Engineer to our management team. Position will be responsible for facilitating our manufacturing processes and operations as well as to ensure quality of parts and compliance with customer specifications. Position will work with all levels of management as well as ownership to develop the drawings and programs necessary to run parts accurately to meet customer designs. As a short-run fabricator, the need for a qualified engineer who programs is crucial and this is a key position.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • communicate with all levels of management to facilitate efficient accomplishment of objectives
  • work with company management and customers to obtain drawings and other information necessary to make the part to specification
  • provide soft tooling (machine programs) for all CNC manufacturing equipment in a timely manner
  • provide technical support to manufacturing operations through process improvement, documentation of process specifications and procurement of hard and soft tooling
  • communicate with customers to resolve engineering issues
  • assist as necessary with special projects and on the floor problem resolution
  • review routers and BOM to ensure they are accurate and will produce the part to the customer's specifications
  • implement cost reductions including efficient use of material as well as programs like Fabribend
  • document process changes and notate prints and routers accordingly
  • assist in investigating root cause analysis for defects and corrective action implementation

Qualified Candidates Will Have:
  1. Minimum of 3-5 years in a metal fabrication production environment with programming experience
  2. Strong comprehension of metal fabricating processes
  3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  4. Knowledge and utilization of basic inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers and squares
  5. Familiarity with inspection software a plus
  6. Excellent communication skills
  7. Hands on approach
  8. Bilingual a plus
