Position Summary:

Analyze research needs to determine feasibility of adapting manual procedures to computer applications; design, coordinate, and help to develop, modify, and maintain computer systems required to enhance clinical care and research.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks:

Develop, modify, maintain, and validate computer programs
  • Develop programs to support research needs
  • Validate computer applications

Develop and Program Site and Sponsor Reporting
  • Help design reports based upon CRF and database structure
  • Design project directory architecture
  • Develop SAS programs to create site and sponsor reports
  • Perform quality control on all reports prior to delivery
  • Work with site management team to answer follow-up questions about reports

Estimate and manage project workload
  • Provide status updates to supervisor
  • Estimate time required to complete various tasks
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings as required
  • Coordinate statistical programming efforts of others on project

Prepare and maintain project documentation
  • Follow SOP documentation standards and/or work practices
  • Maintain analysis documentation
  • Document directory structures for analysis files and data files
Learn, apply, and share new techniques to increase efficiencies
  • Assist management in improvements to departmental infrastructure
  • Help implement industry trend solutions (regulatory, technical, EHR)
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Educate others in formal and informal settings
  • Work with CMS data and registry data

Other Duties:
  • Answers analysis programming questions that others may have.
  • Attend departmental meetings
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Preferred Experience:
Preferred experience includes previous outcomes or clinical trials experience, expert knowledge of SAS software, and sounds knowledge of the UNIX operating system. Some experience in a supervisory capacity is also preferred.

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Work requires Bachelor's degree in mathematics or computer science or a computer-related field or equivalent coursework or technical training.

Experience

Work requires four years of progressive programming experience which includes experience as a member of a development team implementing a major system and experience in a supervisory capacity.
