WRDS SALES & MARKETING COORDINATOR
Duties: This position will work with the Director of Sales, Marketing & Business Development of Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) to lead sales of WRDS Products, including marketing, sales, and contracting. Cold call potential prospects to present WRDS services and value proposition, conduct meetings with key stakeholders, and close sales independently to drive new revenues and expand wallet share with existing subscribers.
Travel and represent WRDS independently to visit prospects and at conferences and trade shows globally. Focus on identifying and qualifying new leads for WRDS and closing sales with an entrepreneurial approach. Travel to prospect locations to present WRDS Value proposition to relevant stakeholders with goal to grow WRDS subscriber base. Provide market intelligence regarding new data vendors, competitors and trends in the marketplace. Independently prospect and target new subscribers, identify and qualify leads, and close sales. Ensure accurate and timely usage of customer relationship management tools (CRM) to maintain high quality data on current customers and prospects. Develop reports and strategic analyses to identify key trends and formulate strategy and establish best sales practices.
Have sound business judgement in escalating negotiation challenges and legal issues to the Director for resolution. Exhibit a positive attitude to find creative solutions for subscribers as needed. Thinking 'out of the box' to come up with creative solutions to uncover prospect pain points and overcome objections is critical to the success of this position.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
BA in a business discipline (accounting, finance, marketing) with an emphasis on detailed knowledge of financial statements, securities, and portfolio management and at least 7 years work experience in financial or data marketing sales strongly preferred. Experience selling to financial research community and investment managers preferred. Excellent written and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and ability to multitask essential. Must be flexible in adjusting priorities and tasks according to the needs of the organization. Strong ability to show initiative, work independently, function well in teams, and possess attention to detail. Prior knowledge and use of CRM systems a plus.
