Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks a Senior Administrative Coordinator to work 20 hours per week in the Center for Transportation Studies within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Primary responsibilities include operational support for the Center including fiscal administration, procurement, communications, grants administration, and other administrative functions. The incumbent will manage payroll and personnel paperwork in concert with School human resources for research center graduate and undergraduate student workers, submit funding documentation for graduate students, track funding sources for research center faculty and staff, coordinate and review travel expenses relating to research for center faculty, staff, students and external grant participants. Additional duties include completing special projects and coordinating center intern programs, effort reporting and compliance.

The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field, at least 2 years of experience working in an administrative capacity, be a self-starter and able to work independently on a variety of projects. Applicants must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, as well as the ability to interpret apply and communicate university policy and procedure.
