The University of Colorado, College of Nursing has an opening for a full-time Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) or an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) at the rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor, Tenure Track or Non-Tenure Track. Rank and track will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have recent primary care experience and a track record of excellence in academic teaching. Responsibilities include participation in the teaching, practice, and service mission of the College of Nursing and the University of Colorado. Demonstration of academic leadership such as curricular/program development is preferred. A total of 20% of the position will be devoted to clinical practice as an advanced practice nurse. Within the College of Nursing, service and scholarship to the University and the College are an expectation of all faculty members.

This full time position involves didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities. Didactic courses are taught in the classroom, online, or in blended formats. Supervision of clinical courses includes clinical conferences using online conferencing and close communication with clinical preceptors.

Duties:
  • Devotes 20% to clinical practice as an APRN in order to maintain certification requirements and to assist with preceptorship or remediation and evaluation of advanced practice students.
  • Accepts teaching assignments within the College of Nursing as determined by Assistant/Associate Dean.
  • Participates in course, curricular and program revisions / development
  • Engages in an active program of publication and scholarship

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • National certification as an adult nurse practitioner primary care
  • Doctorate degree such as DNP or PhD
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an AGNP or ANP-Primary Care
  • Experience in academic teaching
  • Eligible for Colorado State APRN license, in good standing
  • Qualified for rank of Assistant / Associate Professor in either Tenure Track or Non-Tenure Track


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstration of academic leadership such as curricular/program development
