Degree and Area of Specialization:
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience is required.
Applicants must demonstrate strong written communication skills.
The Administrative Specialist provides support to the Assistant Dean for Facilities by managing the daily administrative activities of the Facilities unit in the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). The position is responsible for communicating policies, procedures, and project-specific information across various groups within and outside of the SMPH. The Admin Specialist manages the parking permit distribution process within the SMPH. Responsibilities also include data gathering, tracking, and communications in the areas of finance and human resources, and general administrative duties.
The selected candidate must be able to communicate effectively across multiple departments. A high level of professionalism is required. Excellent organizational skills are the key to being successful in this position. The incumbent must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently using initiative and good judgment. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and tracking budgets, running reports, and/or other fiscal-related duties.
