Coordinator - Mentoring Women of UVU/Events

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
The Women's Success Center (WSC) is seeking a creative and motivated professional to work with the Women of UVU Association and its corresponding mentoring programs. Responsible for creating and implementing a mentoring program for the Women of UVU Association. Operates ethically and effectively with extra attention to appropriate personal relations with the students as they attend association events, retreats, council meetings, etc. Coordinates and manages events by securing venues, presenters, food/catering, audio-visual requirements, printed materials, and decor. Establishes relationships with event sponsors, partners, vendors and non-profit organizations. Coordinates volunteer participation for WSC booths including both with campus and community partners. Ambassador to students, staff, and community members to provide a safe place where women have access to resources to assist them on their pathway to success.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Creative thinking and transformational leadership is critical.
  • Knowledge of traditional, non-traditional and first generation learners in higher education, the issues facing them, and the resources available to help them reach graduation.
  • Knowledge of best practices in communication, correspondence, and appropriate matters of etiquette in various settings.
  • Knowledge of campus policies, procedures, and practices preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Volunteer organization and coordinating skills.
  • Skills with software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.)
  • Expertise with social media and current communication trends helpful.
  • High levels of professionalism and decorum are necessary.
  • Ability to manage office during core working hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
  • Ability to train and develop student leaders in their respective leadership positions.
  • Ability to work successfully with a variety of constituencies and offices with varied needs, missions, goals and objectives.
  • Ability to understand and articulate a student’s needs and concerns as they relate to professional and educational goals.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to meet and work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity.
May require physical effort including lifting up to 25 pounds and some extended periods of standing or walking.

Pay Range: $31,554 - $42,072
