Faculty - Lecturer - Behavioral Science (One Year Only)

The Utah Valley University Department of Behavioral Science invites applications for the position of Lecturer - Behavioral Science (non-tenure-track). Designs, prepares, and teaches courses, and delivers content using meaningful and engaging methods. Uses measurable course objectives. Teaches, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in a classroom setting via demonstrations, discussion, experiential learning activities, and visual aids. Provides evaluation of learning through written and performance tests. Holds regular office hours and maintains a student-oriented approach to education.
This is a 1-year position.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with at least a Master’s degree in Family Studies or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of subject matter and course content
  • Skills in effective instructional pedagogy including teaching strategies and techniques.
  • Skills in interpersonal, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and consistently orally and electronically with students.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or ability to design online courses for family financial management, family policy, other FAMS courses.
Experience teaching family studies undergraduates.

Physical Requirements:
May be required to teach online, blended, distance education, off-campus or evening courses.
