Under the direction of the Dean and the Chair of the Department of Secondary Education, designs, prepares, and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Autism Studies (AUTS). Coordinates and maintains the Approved Course Sequence approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCBA). Supports the scheduling of courses in ABA and AUTS. Coordinates internships for the ABA and AUTS programs, including solicitation of new providers and community partners. Participates in scholarly activities. Attends meetings in the School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center of Autism, as needed, to coordinate programming and student success. Supports the review of graduate applications and coordinates interviews for students interested in the ABA emphasis. Engages with students and colleagues in service across campus and in the community. Available to teach summer and evening courses as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a PhD appropriate to discipline (e.g., Special Education, Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, etc.). ADB accepted. Current and ongoing certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D) is required. Demonstrated teaching at the graduate level.

Knowledge of BACB ethical compliance code, requirements, and task lists.

Ability to supervise experience hours practicum for students pursing BCBA certification.

Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university.

Demonstrated success coordinating a Behavior Analyst Certification Board approved course sequences.

Current and ongoing certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D) is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience related to ASD treatment, therapy, diagnosis and educational best practices.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of behavior analysis and best practices as it applies to ASD therapies and treatment options.
Knowledge of organizational development theory and management practices.

Strong program coordination skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Skills in teaching principles of applied behavior analysis.
Strong organizational skills including strategic planning and prioritization, budget preparation and fiscal management.
Effective interpersonal, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Effective skills in instructional strategies and techniques.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to supervise and organize student internships and practicums.
Ability to teach students from diverse populations.
Demonstrated ability to teach graduate courses.
Ability to implement and supervise behavior analytic interventions.
