Assistant Professor - Psychology #000180
Western Carolina University seeks an Assistant Professor of Psychology to begin January 1, 2018. This is a 9-month full-time tenure-track position. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
This faculty member will teach a combination of undergraduate courses and graduate courses, largely focusing in general experimental psychology. The demonstrated ability to teach statistics and research methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels is essential. Areas of focus should be basic psychological science, and preference will be given to candidates able to teach courses in the neurological bases of behavior, and/or candidates with an active program of eye-tracking research.
The Department of Psychology has 18 full-time faculty members, over 400 undergraduate majors and 35 full-time graduate students. There are graduate programs in General-Experimental, Clinical and School Psychology. WCU is an engaged regional comprehensive university, and all faculty are expected to use their professional knowledge and skills in service to the institution and the external community. The doctorate must be completed before the position begins.
