Director for Academic Technology
Responsibilities: Grinnell College seeks to hire a professional who brings to the college energy and vision for an integration of technology and the liberal arts. The College is moving forward to assemble the building blocks of a creative synthesis of technology and teaching, learning, and scholarship in a prestigious liberal arts environment. The director will report to the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment and work in close collaboration with the College’s Chief Information Officer.
The Director will bring to the college energy and vision for an integration of technology and the liberal arts. The College is moving forward to assemble the building blocks of a creative synthesis of technology and teaching, learning, and scholarship in a prestigious the liberal arts environment. A team that may include up to two instructional technologists and two digital liberal arts specialists will be working with the director to help find, develop, and support academic departments and college libraries for initiatives in the technology of teaching, learning, scholarship, and assessment.
Qualifications: Successful candidates should have experience in at least one traditional area of the liberal arts as well as a record of supervisory experience. A bachelor’s degree is required, and attainment of a graduate degree is preferred. A further requirement is evidence of experience with technologies and standards in higher education setting.
