General Description of Position: This position is the responsible for the processing of residency for incoming students, English as a second language processing, escalated phone calls, providing leadership and training for front line switchboard student service, application fee waivers, email management, selective admissions and conduct evaluation support, and other duties as assigned.     Processing of residency for incoming students:  Undergraduate admissions representative working with Kansas State University policy, Kansas law, Kansas Board of Regent regulations, Associate Vice President/Executive Director, University Attorney and Registrar English as a second language processing:  Collaborate with the English language program on testing dates, times and services, use professional discretion when  assessing domestic ESL and global ESL students through transcript analysis and academic history review. Handle escalated phone calls:   Articulate admission standards and university policy with students and other constituents.   Provide leadership and training for front line switchboard student service.  Must be able to operate and direct switchboard calls. Application fee waiver request processing: Review using professional discretion application fee waiver requests in a timely manner per application waiver policies.  Email management:  Maintain and manage the K-State admissions’ high volume, time sensitive email account requiring significant institutional knowledge and student service skills. Selective admissions and Admissions Conduct Evaluation Team (ACET) support:  Employee will serve as the assistant to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions. Assist the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions with processing the confidential selective admission referrals as needed.  Assist the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions/ACET Coordinator with the data processing of ACET files.  In the Assistant Director’s absence serve as proxy on the ACET team as well as fielding ACET phone calls and emails. Other duties as assigned:  During peak office times, provide assistance with switchboard, transcript check-in, search/match student information system imports, prospective student inquiry data entry, or other similar duties. 
Required Minimum Qualifications: This position requires one year of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: Three-four years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.
Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.  Associates or Bachelor degree in a related field.  Experience with student information systems.  Ability to maintain shifting priorities. Previous student affairs, leadership and management experience.  Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.
