Visiting Assistant Professor in Musical Theatre #120565
Visiting Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, 9 – month Fixed Term position. Duties will include teaching a four (4) course load each semester with course release for Musical Directing each semester. Courses taught include song study, musicianship, ensembles, etc. This position will serve as an advisor to our Musical Theatre student group. Will work closely with Musical Theatre Program Coordinator on season selection, casting, productions and curriculum development.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements:
Terminal degree in Theatre, Music,
Musical Theatre, or closely related field or masters degrees in such fields with at least 5 years experience in Musical Theatre and/or
teaching at the University level. Working professionals in the Musical Theatre with a national reputation may be considered with a bachelor’s level degree. Conducting, sight-reading and piano accompaniment skills.
Preferred ability to teach “acting
the song”, experience with producing, supervising and coordinating musical theatre events, recruiting, working with budgets, voice
instruction with expertise in vocal styles for musical theatre.
