Working Title: Apprentice Tradesman

Position Summary: The Apprentice Tradesman assists a certified or licensed skilled tradesman in all phases of work associated with a particular trade and is responsible for learning the duties in an apprentice training program. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Assist skilled trades worker to ensure tools and materials needed to perform daily work assignments are accounted for and in good working order.
Assist skilled trades worker with contacting customers and providing information and schedules for ongoing work if possible or provide courtesy tag when customer is not available.
Perform work assignments in a professional and courteous manner under direction of skilled trade's worker.
Employees shall adhere to all Federal, State and Local codes and regulations governing safety and Code regulations and report all incidents to the skilled trade's team leader.
Ensure that all time cards and other assigned paper work are correct and turned in on time.
Employees will wear daily the assigned uniform as designated in the Uniform FMOP. Exceptions will be in writing for approval by the AVC.
Attend team meetings, open forum meetings, assigned training, and any meetings at the discretion of the Skilled Trades Foreman.
Adhere to the vision and guiding principles of the Finance and Administration Division.
Other duties as assigned and/or requested.
General Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
Availability to work after hours, weekends, or holidays as requested.
Other: This position is considered Essential Personnel and Candidate must possess a valid Drivers License
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Knowledge of:
Basic measuring tools, equipment, and materials used in the various skilled trades.
Perform manual labor under various working conditions; use hand and power tools in various working conditions; understand and follow oral and written instructions; and communicate information and ideas in various environments.
The use, operation, and care of tools and machinery.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write.
Other job related Education and/or Experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval or the qualifications review committee.
